How to Use (Step-by-Step)
1. Prep & Protect: Put on the gloves provided in the kit. Apply a protective hair oil or petroleum jelly along your hairline, ears, and neck to prevent skin irritation. If you have a sensitive scalp, part the hair and apply oil directly to the scalp.
2. Mix: Pour the Activator (B) into the Base (A) jar. Mix thoroughly with the wooden spatula for at least one minute until the mixture is completely smooth and free of lumps. (Improper mixing can cause scalp irritation or uneven relaxing). Perform a strand test before proceeding.
3. Apply: Apply the mixed relaxer close to the scalp, but not directly on the scalp skin. If this is a touch-up, apply strictly to the new growth area to avoid over-processing previously relaxed hair. Do not exceed the maximum processing time specified in the instruction sheet's timing chart.
4. Smooth: Gently smooth the relaxer through the sections using your fingertips or the back of a comb.
5. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the hair with warm water, paying extra attention to the hairline, nape of the neck, and behind the ears, until all product is completely removed.
6. Neutralize: Shampoo thoroughly with the included Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo to halt chemical processing. Repeat until the shampoo lather turns completely white (a pink lather indicates relaxer is still present in the hair). Rinse thoroughly.
7. Condition: Apply a generous amount of the Replenishing Pak, cover with a plastic cap, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes (or up to an hour without heat) to restore strength and moisture. Rinse thoroughly. Style as desired.
