I like that this particular brand comes with a deep conditioning packet that you mix into the relaxer along with the activator. This adds much needed protection to the hair and I feel it prevents potential over-processing. If applying only to new growth, make sure to part your hair into small sections all over and use a clip to separate them. This will make it easier and less stressful when applying the relaxer. When using this relaxer, I set the timer to twenty minutes max for my hair. This is enough time for applying and smoothing of the relaxer. When removing the relaxer from the hair, make sure to rinse it all out with water first and then use the neutralizing shampoo. Allow the shampoo to sit in the hair for a few minutes before rinsing and repeating. I strongly suggest buying a good pair of better fitting gloves because the ones that come in the box are too flimsy.
